All About Jesus

Who We Are

We are a community of forgiven sinners from diverse backgrounds. We are the legacy left by the faithful believers of Riverside Baptist Church joined with the believers from Summit Church who've been at Riverside Acres park.

We firmly believe in the transformative power of Jesus so bring your hurt, pain, questions, and anything else on Sunday. Come as you are, Jesus doesn't turn anyone away and no one ever regrets trusting Him.

Our Beliefs

We believe the Bible is God’s inspired and authoritative Word. It is fully trustworthy and the final standard for faith and life.
All Scripture points to Jesus Christ and shapes what we believe and how we live.

There is one living and true God who exists eternally in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. God is the Creator, Sustainer, and Ruler of the universe.

Humans are created in God’s image but are separated from God by sin. Every person needs salvation because of sin’s effects.

Salvation is God’s free gift received through faith in Jesus Christ alone.
-Jesus’ death on the cross paid for our sins.
-Repentance (turning from sin) and faith in Christ are inseparable.
-Salvation brings regeneration (new birth), justification (being declared righteous), sanctification (growth in Christ-likeness), and will ultimately result in glorification with Christ.

God’s grace not only saves but sustains believers. Those truly saved will persevere in faith because God completes the work He begins.

The church is a community of baptized believers committed to Christ.
-It exists for worship, discipleship, fellowship, and mission.
-Church government is congregational, meaning members share responsibility under Christ’s lordship.
-Church members are expected to uphold biblical discipline, teaching, and practice.

Baptism
-Performed by immersion after a person professes faith in Christ.
-Symbolizes identification with Jesus in His death, burial, and resurrection.
-Baptism is a public testimony of faith and a prerequisite for church membership.

The Lord’s Supper (Communion)
  -A symbolic act of obedience.
-Believers share the bread and cup to remember Christ’s death and anticipate His return.
-It does not confer salvation but visibly proclaims the gospel.

Sunday is observed as a special day for worship, reflection, and rest in recognition of Christ’s resurrection.

God’s Kingdom is both a present spiritual reality and a future fulfillment when Christ returns.

We believe in the personal, visible return of Christ, the resurrection of all people, the final judgment, and the eternal state—either eternal life with God or separation from Him.

Christ calls His people to share the gospel locally and globally. The church participates in the Great Commission to make disciples.

Believers should grow in knowledge of Christ through teaching, training, and personal study of Scripture.

Everything we have belongs to God. Christians are expected to invest their time, talents, and resources for God’s glory.

Christians and churches should work together for the advancement of the gospel.

Believers should live with integrity and care for others, seeking justice, mercy, and human dignity.

Christians are called to live peaceably. In matters of war, obedience to God’s Word guides moral responsibility.

People have the right to worship according to conscience without coercion. The church supports freedom of religion for all.

The family—defined biblically as a marriage between one man and one woman—is foundational to society and the church. Parents have a sacred responsibility to raise children in the faith.
